Exciting Partnership: Thrive House x Vocational Training Queensland

Did you know that Thrive House has partnered with Vocational Training Queensland (VTQ) to deliver training right here at our Community Hub in Maroochydore?

These courses are designed to help young people build essential literacy, numeracy, and learning skills, with the added benefit of 1:1 learning support from our trained Thrive House staff, available through NDIS funding.

VTQ is a registered training organisation (RTO) owned by the Queensland Department of Education. Providing inclusive and practical training for young people across Queensland who need support in developing their foundational learning skills.

Their mission is to empower participants to take the next step, whether that’s further education, training, or employment, through flexible, supportive, and inclusive learning programs.

You can also find VTQ listed on the Department of Education’s public website.

Every young person’s learning journey matters. Courses are designed to support people at different stages of learning, meeting them where they are and helping them grow in confidence and independence.

Through our partnership, Thrive House and VTQ are creating a safe, inclusive, and empowering space for young people to thrive through education, supported by the NDIS.

Why Train with VTQ & Thrive House

Flexible Learning Options: Students can learn in the way that best suits them, right in our community hub.
Portable Learning: Courses can move with students if they relocate, ensuring continuity in education.
Community Support: Learners work alongside Thrive House staff mentors who guide them every step of the way.
Inclusive Resources: All materials are engaging, relevant, and respectful of diverse backgrounds and abilities.
Student Voice: VTQ values student feedback and listens to what young people really think about their learning experience.

Program is available to eligible NDIS participants whose disability directly impacts their ability to learn or engage in education. If your plan includes a goal related to study, work, or building independence, you may be able to use Capacity Building funding to take part in the program.

Thrive House covers all VTQ course fees, the only cost to participants is for 1:1 mentor support, typically funded under Improved Daily Living, Lifelong Learning, or Social and Community Participation.

If you’d like to find out more about the VTQ courses available at our Community Hub, or if your organisation supports young people looking to develop their skills, we’d love to hear from you!
