Grand Opening: Thrive House Community Hub

Proudly announcing the grand opening of our brand-new Community Hub located in beautiful Sunshine Coast, Maroochydore, nestled beside the Maroochydore River. Our space has been purposefully designed to be inclusive, welcoming, and full of opportunities for people of all abilities to connect, learn, and grow. Our Community Hub is a vibrant social space, with events driven by the ideas and passions of the people we support. Whether it’s a games night, art workshop, BBQ by the river, or a chill afternoon of music and conversation, we’re here to bring those moments to life.

Our partnership with Vocational Training Queensland (VTQ), enables us to proudly offer VTQ Pathways Program, available to eligible NDIS participants whose disability directly impacts their ability to learn or engage in education. If your plan includes a goal related to study, work, or building independence, you may be able to use Capacity Building funding to take part. Thrive House covers all VTQ course fees, so the only cost to participants is for 1:1 mentor support, which is typically funded under Improved Daily Living, Lifelong Learning, or Social and Community Participation. This program is designed to support participants who have disengaged from mainstream education or haven’t yet had the opportunity to meet their learning goals. It also helps build essential skills in literacy, numeracy, communication, and everyday life, all while helping individuals progress toward their NDIS goals, whether that’s further study, future employment, or greater independence.

To kick things off, we’re launching our NDIS Holiday Program starting June 30th, for high school students aged 12 and over. It’s perfect for young people who are looking to meet others, build confidence, and enjoy new experiences during the school holidays. Highlights of the program include learning to sail with Sailability, taking part in bus travel training days to build independent transport skills, and a fun-filled excursion to the Ginger Factory and the Big Pineapple. There’ll also be plenty of hands-on, engaging activities happening right here at the Hub, all designed to build life skills while having a great time.

We’re also proud to be running our NDIS Day Program for school leavers and young adults aged 17 and over. This program offers a more structured daily routine focused on developing social skills, practical abilities, and greater independence. Through a mix of community-based activities, group outings, and tailored support, participants will have the chance to explore their interests, gain confidence, and grow in meaningful ways.

Come and visit us, meet our team, explore our space, and see how we’re bringing community to life right here in Maroochydore. Our Community Hub is now open, and our Holiday Program kicks off from June 30, spots are filling fast, so get in touch to book or find out more.
