Strengthening Security to Better Support Our Community

At Thrive House, protecting the people we support goes beyond face-to-face care, it also means ensuring their information is safe, secure, and handled with the highest level of responsibility.

Recently, we partnered with Kloudify to complete an independent Essential Eight cybersecurity audit, a key step in strengthening our systems ahead of our NDIS audit requirements.

Why This Matters

In today’s world, strong cybersecurity isn’t optional, it’s essential. For organisations like ours, it plays a critical role in maintaining trust, protecting sensitive information, and meeting compliance standards under the NDIS.

The audit gave us something incredibly valuable: a clear, independent view of where we stood and exactly what we needed to improve.

A Collaborative Approach

Kloudify provided a detailed, evidence-based roadmap, while our internal IT team brought it to life. By combining external expertise with our team’s deep understanding of our systems, we were able to implement meaningful improvements without disrupting the services our participants rely on every day.

What We Strengthened

Through this process, we made significant improvements across our systems, including:

Strengthening login security with multi-factor authentication
Improving access controls to ensure the right people have the right access
Enhancing device and application security across our organisation
Introducing automated updates to keep systems current and protected
Centralising system monitoring to improve visibility and response
Implementing secure, tested backups to protect critical data

These changes mean our systems are not only more secure, they are also more reliable and resilient.

Real, Measurable Outcomes

As a result of this work, Thrive House can now:

✔ Demonstrate our security against a recognised Australian standard
✔ Meet and support NDIS audit requirements with confidence
✔ Maintain ongoing protection through sustainable systems and processes

This isn’t a one-time fix, it’s a long-term commitment to doing things right.

Looking Ahead

This journey reinforced something important: strong security comes from clarity, collaboration, and consistency.

By combining independent insights with internal expertise, we’ve built a stronger foundation, one that supports not only compliance, but the trust our community places in us every day.

At Thrive House, we remain committed to continuous improvement, so we can keep delivering safe, high-quality support to the people who matter most 💚
