We are incredibly proud to announce that Thrive House has been named the Most Outstanding Creator of Safe and Supportive Environments in the NDIS/Disability Sector in Australia for 2026.
The prestigious Enablement Award was presented at a ceremony in Brisbane on 7 August 2026, recognising the work of Thrive House Founder Bernadette Burns and our dedicated team across the organisation.

The Enablement Awards were created to recognise excellence, innovation and exemplary achievements across the disability care sector in Australia.
The awards celebrate organisations and individuals who demonstrate outstanding performance, innovative thinking, leadership, courage and a commitment to elevating the experience of the people they support.For Thrive House, receiving this recognition is an important milestone. It reflects our ongoing commitment to creating environments where people feel safe, respected, valued and empowered.
While we are incredibly proud to receive this recognition, we know that an award like this represents the collective effort of an entire community. It belongs to Team Thrive, our support workers, house managers, practitioners, coordinators, administration teams, leaders and everyone working behind the scenes to support the people who rely on our services. Most importantly, it belongs to the people we support and their families, who place their trust in us every day.
Creating a safe and supportive environment is about much more than policies and procedures. It is about the everyday moments that build trust, connection, dignity, choice and belonging. It is about listening to people, respecting their individuality and supporting them to have greater choice and control over their lives. The Enablement Awards recognise organisations that demonstrate innovation, leadership and the courage to challenge existing ways of doing things.
At Thrive House, we see this award not only as recognition of what we have achieved, but as motivation to keep improving. We will continue to look for new ways to strengthen our services, support our team and create positive experiences for the people we support. Our goal remains simple: to create environments where people feel supported to live, connect, participate and thrive.
